ST PAT’S DAY LEUKAEMIA FUND RAISER AT THE TAP ROOM

Friday March 14th 2003

A few weeks ago Martin from Toohey's Brewery contacted me to see if I could provide some musicians to help them have an early St Pat's celebration to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

I reckoned I could round up a few, but was absolutely delighted with the numbers who turned up, we had 9 at the first session and around 12 for the second.

The music was fun as always, and we were helped along nicely by the oysters, meat pies, Irish stew, nibblies etc,

not to mention all those glasses of the "craic" (a new stout brewed in Melbourne).

In previous years Toohey's (like many other places) had done a head shave to raise money, this year they did a hair dye, in VIVID green, (not unlike the shade of this page!!)

Lots of people and a few of the musos left looking different to when they arrived... green hair, green beards, green eyebrows!!

$2000 was raised during the afternoon.

My sincere thanks to all of you who came along to help make this day a great success, and special thanks to those green haired eejits, and those who forked out the money for it to happen.

(sorry to the people at the 2nd session, they mustn't have taken any photos)
