Blacktown
Festival 2001
(I
know this is out of date now, but I'm leaving it on the
site, because what I said then still rings true, and you
all did a wonderful job again this year....... thanks.)
A
few weeks ago I asked if any of the members would be free
to come along and perform at the Blacktown Festival to raise
money for the club. Imagine my delight when 15 turned up,
(plus another few in the audience!) I think we must have
used every microphone and input the poor sound guy had!
It
is always great to be on stage with friends but this was
special. We had musicians and singers everywhere, and poets
(thanks Robert and Arch). We had an absolute ball, (or as
we'd say at home "the craic was great"), the audience loved
it, and I think we were a great advertisement for folk music
and poetry to the people of Blacktown. So to all of you
who turned up, thanks again for your support, and friendship
and most importantly for your music. See you at the club!!!
